Life-Long Faith Formation Ministries

Parish Religious Education Program (PREP)

The Parish of Saint Michael the Archangel Religious Education Program (PREP) is a continuing journey of faith for school-age children. In this program, young Parishioners experience the rich traditions of our Catholic Faith. We strive to pass on doctrine and Catholic Tradition, build community, and prepare the students to live the lives of service as called for by virtue of their Baptism. We hope to motivate all students and their families to live a life of faithfulness and action. Supported by faith-filled parents, dedicated volunteer catechists, as well as religious Sisters, Priests, and Deacons, our children enjoy learning and growing to appreciate the gifts of their Catholic Faith.

Perhaps you feel called to assist as a catechist or aide during our classes on Sundays. Maybe you feel called to help children prepare for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist, or Confirmation. We are always looking for assistance.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults

(RCIA)

RCIA-02.jpg

RCIA is a program designed to help adults explore the Catholic faith. It's for individuals who want to complete their Christian Initiation (they need one or all of the Sacraments of Initiation ... Baptism, Eucharist and / or Confirmation). It's also for practicing Catholics who want to brush up or learn more about their faith. The program is multi-dimensional, including classes, retreats, and service.

Perhaps you are being called to be a catechist or team member who will present a topic on Church teaching: doctrine, history, Scripture, Sacraments, Prayer, or Rituals. Maybe you are being called to be a sponsor or support person to assist the candidate at our meetings. This individual becomes a friend and "an extra set of ears" and supports the candidate on their journey to becoming a full-member of the Catholic Church and beyond.

Biblical Reflections

The members of the Biblical Reflections Ministry learn about Scripture, both the Old and New Testaments, how many books are in each, along with addressing questions about their similarities and differences. When we gather, we discuss a pre-selected book of the Bible on which to focus. Our group has covered the Pentateuch and the Gospels of Saints Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Currently we are exploring the Acts of the Apostles. During our time together, we become familiar with the characters in each book, the time period the book was written, authorship, and the current events and culture of the world that the book is addressing. We seek God's words of inspiration, His mercy and love. We seek Jesus' examples of teaching, preaching, and healing. We seek examples of how the Holy Spirit's gifts and fruits are given to us. We look forward to exploring the many other books of Sacred Scripture. Our meetings are held in the evening, twice monthly.

Share Your Faith

shareyourfaith-03.jpg

Share Your Faith is a discussion group that examines characteristics and varying topics of the Catholic Faith. Participants talk about contemporary issues, discipleship, and ways to grow closer to God. Fellowship develops as people share memories and questions about the Church. This group offers laughter, learning, and a warm connection to our Parish community. Meetings are generally held twice a month (second and fourth week). Meetings dates, time, and location can be found on our Parish Activities Calendar.
