Outreach Ministries
Outreach Ministry
The Parish of Saint Michael the Archangel Outreach Ministries strive to reach out to the members of the parish who are infirm, homebound, or in need of assistance. Our goal is to let them know we remember and pray for them even though they may be unable to attend Mass or participate fully in the activities of the parish. We send cards frequently and visit, if requested, taking prayer shawls or lap blankets which are made by our own Knit & Crochet Ministry. The Christmas Tree Project and cookie dishes are also ways we try to reach out to others.
Food Pantry Ministry
The Parish of Saint Michael the Archangel Food Pantry provides assistance to those in need who live either in Clayton or Franklin Township. To donate food, please place non-perishable items in the grocery carts located in the Gathering Spaces of either Nativity or Saint Catherine of Siena. Monetary donations and grocery gift cards may be placed in an envelope marked "For the Food Pantry" and dropped into the collection basket at Mass or delivered to the Parish Office. Packing of groceries is done on Wednesdays, with distribution on Thursday mornings.
Knit & Crochet Ministry
The members of the Knit & Crochet Ministry make hats, scarves, mittens, baby blankets, wash cloths, and prayer shawls and lap blankets. These are given to homeless shelters and crisis centers in the area, the food pantry, to hospital and out-patient units who treat individuals with cancer, and to parishioners on an as-needed basis. Our white baby blankets are given to children celebrating the Sacrament of Baptism in the parish. Wash cloths are handed out at Clayton Day, Franklin Township Community Day, and included in food bags given out by the Food Pantry during Thanksgiving and Christmas.

We gratefully accept monetary donations and gift cards to AC Moore or Hobby Lobby for the purchase of yarn. New members are always welcome and if you would like to learn how to knit or crochet, we would love to teach you!
