Bishop's Annual Appeal

My Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Hopefully you have received a letter from Bishop Sullivan asking you to prayerfully consider a sacrificial gift to the House of Charity for this year's campaign. Please prayerfully consider making a commitment in support of the vital programs that carry on the work of the Church throughout southern New Jersey.
These ministries benefit our less fortunate brothers and sisters in our local and surrounding communities. The gifts that come from our parish join those from throughout the Diocese, enabling our workers to bring hope to those in need. While a single gift may not seem like much on its own in the face of such great need, when the Church combines its gifts together, we are able to care for multitudes.
We are the Church. This is our calling. Since the first Apostles, we have been charged with providing care to those who need it ... inspired by the sacrificial love our Savior taught us.
Heavenly Father,
You called us to be One Body: Your Church.
You blessed us so we may be good servants.
Help us to serve those in need.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord,
Who with You and the Holy Spirit live and reign
One God forever and ever. Amen.

Saint Michael the Archangel Regional School provides Pre-K through Grade 8 education through a faith-centered curriculum steeped in strong Catholic values with an emphasis on simplicity, prayer, and service. Through a family-oriented environment, our students develop intellectually, physically, socially, and spiritually in preparation for higher education, a culturally-diverse society, and becoming contributors to the community-at-large.

When someone lives alone, it is often challenging for that individual to have guests in for dinner. The host needs to be busy about getting the drinks and hors d’oeuvres, finishing up the dinner, etc. At the same time, the host wants to be with his or her guests. This raises an important question: how can one serve and be hospitable at the same time one is attentive to guests? This can sometimes be a tricky balancing act. But every good host knows that the guests are more important than anything else.
